Teenage science genius Paul Conway (Joel Courtney) moves into a new town with his single mother Jeannie (Rosemarie DeWitt) and his invention, a robot named BB. Paul befriends local paperboy Tom Toomey (Dane DeHaan) and develops a crush on the beautiful girl next door, Samantha Pringle (Nicola Peltz), who has an abusive alcoholic father Harry (Rory Cochrane). One night, BB gets blown apart via shotgun by neighborhood loon Elvis Parker (R. Lee Ermey), and later, Harry pushes Sam down the stairs, leaving her brain-dead. Paul implants BB's microchip into her brain, successfully bringing her back to life. With BB seemingly in control of her, Sam becomes a terrifying monster hellbent on righting the wrongs committed against her.

MPAA Rating Edit
