Rio 3 is a 2017 American 3D computer-animated musical comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and directed by Carlos Saldanha. It is the sequel to the 2011 computer-animated film Rio and the 2014 sequel Rio 2. The film features the returning voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, George Lopez, Tracy Morgan, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Kristen Chenowerth, Andy Garcia, Bruno Mars, Rita Moreno, Jake T. Austin with David Lim, David Wenham, Mercedes Carrera, Pamela Anderson, and Lauren Compton. The film was released on April 14, 2017 by 20th Century Fox.

Director Carlos Saldanha has kept the possibility for Rio 3 open. He has stated, "Of course, I have a lot of stories to tell, so we're [starting to] prepare for it."[4]

On October 25, 2019, after the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney, it was announced that a spin-off centered on Nico and Pedro was in development for Disney+.[5]
