Rubik is a 2009 film based on the Rubik's Cube toy. The film was released on May 20, 2009 to mostly negative reviews. The film was so bad that it only got a DVD release, which is rare.

Plot Edit

A team of archaeologists in Hungary set out to find the secret of Rubik. They stumble upon the treasure (which is a Rubik's Cube) and once they take it, they end up starting an apocalypse. It turns out the only way to stop the apocalypse is to use the cube against it.

Critical response Edit

Rubik was panned by critics. The film holds a 4% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, saying that "Rubik is another lazy attempt at 80's nostalgia." The film was ranked #1 on IMDb's Top 10 Worst Movies of 2009 list.

The film received the F grade on CinemaScore.

Box office Edit

Rubik was a box office bomb, grossing only $1,000,000 on a $10,000,000 budget.

Due to it's negative reception, the film only had one DVD release, which is extremely rare.
